You can register online at http://testing.las.uh.edu by using a credit card (Currently UH students can be billed). You have to register at least 48 hours before the scheduled test time and date.
When is the MAT test offered?
This test is offered every first and third Tuesday of each month at 3:00 p.m.
How much does MAT cost?
The fee for MAT is $55.00 ($60.00 effective October 1, 2004) for UH students (at main campus only) and $65.00 for non-UH students ($70.00 effective October 1, 2004) . Walk-in fee is additional $10.00. Currently-enrolled UH students will be billed.
How long is the test and what is the test all about?
The Miller Analogies Test (MAT) is a high mental ability test requiring the solution of problems stated as analogies. It is a 60 minute test and consists of 120 analogy questions. Fluency in the English language, a broad knowledge of literature, philosophy, history, science, mathematics, and fine arts, and the ability to reason out relationships may contribute to performance on the MAT. No one is permitted to use a dictionary or any other reference aid when taking the MAT.
When do I receive my MAT scores?
After you take the MAT, your answer document will be sent to The Psychological Corporation for score and score reporting. You will receive your score reports approximately 4 weeks after your test date. |
